We will supply enough fire starters and wood to last you a few days in the cooler months, extra firewood can be found in the carport.

6. AIR-CONDITIONING

The central air-conditioning system is located in the hallway near the kitchen, you can use this for cooling in summer, and heating in winter. The touch pad system is user-friendly, you can view the manufacturers video here. Please remember to turn off the air-conditioning when you go out, and when you check out as to conserve energy. We also have fans in the bedrooms for the warmer months, this is the best cooling option at night when sleeping.

7. COFFEE MACHINE

Please only operate the coffee machine if you are experienced with this type of machine, you can find the manufactures manual here. The coffee machine is plumbed in, meaning you DO NOT need to add water to it. Just turn it on at the machine (not the power point), and wait for at least 30-minutes for it to heat up properly.

For those guests who do not know how to use a commercial coffee machine, we provide a stove top and plunger option, along with fresh ground coffee, located in the pantry. A selection of teas are also available.

8. ENTERTAINMENT

There is no TV at Wallaringa (this is a conscious decision!). Use the time to unwind, read that book, listen to records, talk by the fire, dance under the stars! You can connect via Bluetooth to the sound system from your mobile phone/spotify account, look for the “lounge” icon. Please treat records with care. Rummage through the cane baskets for books, magazines and games. Please pack away with care when you are done for the next guest to enjoy.

9. GROCERIES & SUPPLIES

Dungog town is the closest, about a 10-minute stunning country drive from Wallaringa. Here you will find everything you need; IGA supermarket, butcher & providore, bottle shop, whole food co-op and on Saturday mornings the CWA market is a must for local veg, eggs and sourdough van (it sells out quickly, get in early).

10. LINEN & TOILETRIES

We provide linen and bath towels. If you are planning on visiting the coast or local pools/swimming holes please BYO beach towel, do not use our bath towels outside of the house please so they can stay white and fluffy. We also provide enough toiletries and kitchen essentials that may last for a few days.

11. UTILITIES

Tank water is in use, please use water wisely. Septic system is in use, only flush toilet paper down the toilet, not sanitary items, nappies, or baby wipes. Kindly turn off all lights, air-conditioning, underfloor heating and heated towel rails when you go out, and when you leave, we very much appreciate this.

12. GAS COOKTOP

Our kitchen oven is equipped with a 6-burner gas cooktop. To ignite the gas, please ensure that the switch is in the “on” position. You can find the switch conveniently located on the right-hand side of the sink. When it’s turned on, the middle switch will appear green, indicating that the gas is ready for use.

13. LPG GAS CHANGE OVER

Our cooktop and hot water systems are fuelled by LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) stored in the timber gated area. If you encounter any issues with hot water or gas not working, it may indicate that the gas bottle is empty and needs replacement. Please contact us, and we will provide instructions on how to change the gas bottle and arrange for a replacement for the next guests. Additionally, you can refer to this instructional video for a visual guide.

14. GAS BBQ

The gas BBQ can be found on the deck. If the gas bottle runs out, we keep a spare in the timber gated area at the side of the carport. For instructions on how to change a gas bottle click here. Please let us know about the empty gas bottle so we can swap it out, ready for the next guest. We appreciate it so much.

15. ROBOTIC LAWN MOWER

Yes thats right – we have a robot! This is scheduled to go at night at around 11pm. Robotic lawn mowers are much quieter than traditional lawn mowers (50 decibels to be exact). It wont harm you, however if you are outside late please do not touch or move it. Thank you.

16. LAUNDRY

There is a washing machine and dryer located in the mudroom. You will also find a clothes line in the timber gated area. Cleaning products, iron and ironing board, and vacuum can also be found in the mudroom cupboards. We are on tank water, so please be mindful when using these facilities, water is so precious on a farm.

17. DISHWASHER

The integrated dishwasher is next to the sink in the kitchen, and dishwashing tablets can be found under the sink, the manufacture operating instructions are here. We are on tank water, so please be mindful when using these facilities, and only run a full load if possible.

18. WASTE

All waste must be taken with you at check-out please. Bins are on Wallaringa Road on the way back to the main road. The bins will be labelled “321” for regular waste and recycling. We truely appreciate this!

19. CHECKING OUT

The general rule is to leave it how you found it.  If anything breaks (don’t stress, accidents happen!), is empty, or the like, please just leave that out and let us know. It would help us out so much when we are getting the house ready for the next lovely guests.

Checkout checklist:

  • Please take all your rubbish with you. You’ll find our bins marked “321” on Wallaringa Road as you make your way back to the main road.
  • Turn off all lights, along with the coffee machine, air conditioning, heated floors, and towel rails.
  • Close and lock all doors and windows before you leave.
  • Double-check for personal belongings—we’d hate for you to miss out on taking everything with you.
  • Drop the keys back in the lockbox, and you’re all set.

If you get stuck or are unsure about anything, please get in touch with us.

Thank you!
